The Office of Student Life would like to welcome all of our new and returning students to Collin College with our "Be COOL at Collin!" events!  These events will be taking place as follows:

10:00 AM - 1:00 PM "Walking the Path of Dignity" - Dignity Initiative Launch Event
On Wednesday, September 10th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the launch event for the Dignity Initiative will be held at the Spring Creek Campus Atrium.  As you may be aware, the Dignity Initiative is a multi-year informational campaign to educate the campus community about gender violence and action steps that can be taken to address this social issue.  The campaign features events on all three campuses throughout the Fall and Spring terms, with additional events to be scheduled in future semesters.  The Dignity Initiative is sponsored by the Collin College Committee Against Gender Violence and Oppression.  For more information about the campaign as well as classroom resources, FAQs and a full schedule of campus events, please visit us online:  http://www.collin.edu/community/dignity/index.html

The launch event, "Walking the Path of Dignity," will acquaint students with the purpose and goals of the campaign through a variety of interactive experiences including visits to information tables sponsored by student organizations and community groups, entertainment by Collin arts students and a variety of hands-on activities.  Students will also enjoy free food and the opportunity to earn promotional items through participation.  The event begins at 9:55 a.m. with a welcome from President Israel.  I request that you encourage your students to attend this launch event as well as the other scheduled events.  Sign-in sheets will be available if you wish to offer extra credit.
